If you haven’t watched any Tim Mackie sermons or Bible project videos I’d highly recommend them.
I watched bible project videos as I read through the bible my first time to help me understand each book.
A theme that Tim presents in the video and in some other Bible project videos is the idea that paradise or presumably heaven could be here and now or at least accessible now.
There’s a lot in the bible that points to this. Jesus made the sacrifice. His work is down. God’s gift of salvation can be accepted by us now.
Once you are a believer do you have access to heaven, paradise, the kingdom of God?
John 3:3
Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Once you are a believer can you see it?
Now it may be hard to accept that it’s possible to access heaven right now.
You look at the world and all it’s issues. But can you control those issues? Your actions may affect others around you. But can you fix or save them?
Or is that God’s job. Should we not be submitted to God’s power and sovereign rule? While we can simply focus on trying to live a just and good life with the model that Jesus has shown us?
You look at the issues and problems in your life. But can they not be seen as just steps God is putting you through to teach and build you?
It also may be hard since many don’t see any sort of paradise in this world despite all we have. You may feel guilty. But should you not live there? Does it help them if you aren’t there? Can one living in paradise be a guide to paradise?
When I see the life God has given me I can’t help but be thankful and feel blessed because I feel I am living in paradise now.
