What does Chef’s do?
A lot.
They acquire the different components to make the meal. This in itself is an important task. They can use multiple sources and bring it to the kitchen at the appropriate time.
They know the utensils, devices, equipment, cookware that they will use.
They know how long it takes to prepare the ingredients.
They know how much of each ingredient to use.
They know cook times, bake times and wait times.
They know when they need help.
They know they’re who they are catering to.
They know how much they need to make.
They know the expected result.
At first glance or as the patron it may seem simple, but it isn’t.
The great ones make it look simple.
We should all strive to be Chefs in what we do.
It’s no surprise that Steph Curry has had the nickname Chef Curry. (Curveball on this post no? but call back to sites original content 🙂 )
He’s undoubtedly the best shooter of all time. Yet he’ll mix in all sorts of different ingredients. Dribbling, screens, repositions, backdoor cuts, step backs, mid-range floaters, etc.
The best Chefs do it all. Being a “Chef” can provide insight into how we can approach other aspects of life. The idea of a Chef is someone who makes things look simple but reality is in control of a vast array of elements and brings them all together with their own personal touch. It’s complex. It’s difficult. But the great ones make it look easy.
Who’s the greatest Chef of all time?
You can’t cook worth a damn … idiot
