Is there a physical embodiment of ‘the devil’? Is there a being who is ‘satan’?

When did we first see evil or what happened after man first sinned?
Genesis: 8-10
Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”
He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”
Right here we see what evil is.
It’s fear, dishonesty, distrust, doubt.
Adam feared being naked. He didn’t trust to be seen by God so he hid. He wasn’t immediately honest because he hid.
Other aspects of evil could be said to be deception since that is what the serpent did. Or possibly the pursuit of ‘occult knowledge’ since that is why Eve listened to the serpent.
Finally an aspect of what Adam and Eve brought into the world was death.
None of these are completely or physically embodied in one being but can exist throughout our world at all times.
Fear is often a driver of evil.
The Bible offers solutions to all these evils.
A large post can be made about the solutions. Many Bibles come with an index for most of life’s issues. In order to not leave a cliffhanger on such a subject I’ll list what I see as solutions.
- Fear of God only
- Trust in God
- Being Saved – Repenting for your sins, believing in your heart Jesus is the son of God who died on the cross for our us and our sin
- Love – love your neighbour
- Prayer – even and maybe especially for your enemies
- Faith and Hope
- Belief in Heaven
