Jordan Poole.
The 3rd year player for the Golden State Warriors is primed to have a breakout season.
He is already set to be a starter with Klay Thompson still taking time to return from his prolonged injury.
And Jordan Poole can play. It’s rare a player has the offensive skillset Jordan has. He looks to be an elite shooter. He shot the 3 pointer at 35.1% last season which was an improvement over first year and that should only increase this year. He is also an extremely shifty dribbler creating both opportunities to create either an open shot or a drive to the lane. Add to that his unique ability to get to the basket where he makes evading rim protectors look easy. His weak point may be his defense but so far it’s been tough to judge. His offense is elite and even if his defense is average his scoring will more than make up for it.
Warriors management have found a gem at the 28th pick of the 2019 NBA draft and I’d expect Poole to be a key piece of the team in the future. He’s just 22 right now and just getting started.
The Warriors are doing an excellent job in their transition from the previous core of Klay, Curry and Draymond.
Big pieces for the future include Andrew Wiggins, lasts year’s first round draft pick James Wiseman and their two first rounders this year.
Poole is my pick for MIP and he is poised for a bright future with Golden State.
