Pascal Siakim had a big game for the Toronto Raptors tonight.
30 points on 12/23 shooting and a Raptors win. He looked like he did 2 years ago when the Raptors one a championship.
There’s been lots of chatter that Spcicy P can’t be ‘The Guy’. I disagree. It’s hard to tell what’s been up with him but he hasn’t played like he can. Maybe a mental block like a writer’s block? I saw hints of it when the Raptors played the Miami Heat early last year and Bam Adebayo had Siakims number. Whatever it is I haven’t seen him play like he did tonight in a long time. He took it to the basket and used his shiftiness and a variety of spin moves and fakes to get to the hoop. Siakim looks like a version of Hakeem “The Dream” Olajuwon but this version uses their fancy footword and fakes on drives to the hoop.
If Siakim continues with the play he can most certainly be ‘the guy’. The Raptors likely need another all-star caliber starter to get them back into contention but Siakim looks like he’s returned to the type of player he was showing himself to be a little over a year ago.
