Read and React: Draymond and the Warriors

What is one big reason the Golden State Warriors are so good?

It’s what Draymond Green calls “read and react”.

They read what the opposing team is doing and how they are playing them defensively and they respond.

You can’t really game plan for it. You have to be in the moment. Playing in the moment. Seeing what’s there.

You know what your team is capable of. You know what skillset your teammates have. You know where they like to go.
Spot up. Slash. Go back door. Come off a screen. Relocate.

The Warriors work as a team and react as a team.

What can we take from this in our lives? Just like the Warriors do you prepare. You learn skills. You learn the skills of those around you. When the time comes and different situations present themselves you react accordingly. You make game plans but know that things won’t always go as planned.

This can go for simple encounters with people. You go with the flow and respond to individuals in situations as things unfold. You read the situation. You react how you see best fit. You don’t make cookie cutter responses. If it works in basketball why not in real life? Live in the moment. Trust in yourself. Listen to others. Read and React.
