The media had Ben Simmons as good as gone to the Golden State Warriors.
They also had Goran Dragic shipped to The Dallas Mavericks before the dust even settled on his trade to the Toronto Raptors.
Not even close.
These are just two examples. The examples are endless. The media continually gets it wrong. Again and again and again.
Problem is the media doesn’t care about the truth. They care about clicks and ad revenue.
They only care about the truth if the fans demand it. But a lot of fans buy-in and breathlessly repeat the plausible stories.
The media gets it wrong more than they get it right. Their colossal whiffs should get called out more than it does. At the very least their hot-takes shouldn’t be repeated as gospel.
